Are the containers at ground level so I can roll in a trolley or pallet jack?

Our containers sit on the ground at Sunshine Self Storage, and you drive right up to the doors. There are no stairs, no lifts and no loading docks to deal with.

There is one thing to plan for. There is a lip of about 70mm between the ground and the container floor. A trolley with big wheels will usually bump over it, but a pallet jack, a small-wheeled trolley or anything heavy will roll in more easily with a small ramp. A sturdy ramp, or a couple of chocks of wood, does the job. Bring one with you on moving day.

We don't supply trolleys or pallet jacks, which is one of the ways we keep our prices low. Bunnings hires stair trolleys if you need one.

Inside, a 20ft container is 2.35m wide and 5.9m long, which leaves plenty of room to wheel a trolley in and out. Both doors swing right open, so you have the full width to work with. Load the heaviest items at the back first and work towards the doors.

Remember to park so you don't block other customers, and don't leave anything outside your container while you load.
