Moving house
Settlement dates that don't line up, a rental that ends before the new place is ready, or a sale that fell through. Your furniture has somewhere safe to wait.
Renovating
Pull the furniture out, let the trades get on with it, and bring everything back when the dust settles. Our containers are airtight and dust-proof, so building dust stays at home.
When your dates keep changing
Moves and renovations run over. Call us to change or hold your move-in date, and after three months you stay month to month for as long as you need.
How much space do you need?
A quick test: if your things would fill a single garage to the roof, a 20ft is your size. If they would fill a double garage, look at a 40ft. Still not sure? Call us. If a smaller container will do the job, we'll tell you, even if it earns us less.
10ft container
16.3 m³. A studio apartment's worth of furniture and boxes.

How it works on moving day

Book online
- Choose your size and move-in date
- Pay the rest of the month you move in plus the next full month

We get you ready
- Your move-in details by email
- Your own access card and alarm code
- One more month is charged on your move-in day

Load straight in
- Back the truck, van or trailer up to the doors
- No lifts, no corridors
- Access 5am to 9pm, every day

Stay as long as you need
- Month to month after three months
- Give 30 days' notice when you're moving out
Packing your furniture
- Pack everything clean and completely dry
- Keep furniture off the floor with pallets
- Use cloth covers, not plastic, and skip rubbish bags, which trap moisture
- Stand mattresses on end, and take bed frames apart with the bolts taped to the frame
- Wedge fridge and freezer doors open
- Keep boxes under about 20kg, and leave a small gap from the walls for air
What to leave out
- Food, plants and pets
- Anything flammable, like fuel, gas bottles and paint. Drain the mower first
- Lithium-ion batteries, and anything containing one
- Irreplaceable items, unless itemised and specifically insured. Insurance is up to you

A1 Bargain Boxes sells boxes and packing supplies, Bunnings on Ballarat Road hires stair trolleys, and if you need a removalist, ask us and we'll point you to movers we've checked.
