Online sellers
Get the stock out of the spare room. Whether you sell on eBay, Amazon or your own website, your stock sits in one place and you drive up to it.
- Pack orders at your container, with our written permission
- Fast movers at the front, freestanding shelving behind
- You meet couriers yourself: there's no one on site to accept parcels
Shops
Keep the shop floor for selling. Store seasonal and overflow stock, Christmas displays and spare fittings here, and restock before you open.
- Buy in bulk when the price is right
- Swap seasonal displays in and out
- Access from 5am, so you're back before opening time
Property stylists
Furniture, art, rugs and homewares between jobs. Back the truck up to a 20ft or 40ft and load sofas and beds straight in, with no lifts or corridors.
- A 40ft holds a lot of furniture behind one set of doors
- Load out early for a morning install
- Wrap and cover pieces, and read our ventilation tips
Market stallholders
Marquees, tables, stands and stock in one spot. Load the night before, or from 5am on market day, and unload when you get back.
- Open 7 days, weekends and public holidays included
- Everything in one place, packed the way you like it
- No packing up the garage every weekend
Photographers and videographers
Backdrops, stands, props, cases and set pieces take up a lot of room. Keep the bulky gear here and the cameras with you.
- Drive up and load the car straight from the doors
- Camera and light batteries go home with you: no lithium-ion batteries in storage
- A 10ft suits most kits, a 20ft suits a studio's worth
Cleaning businesses
Machines, trolleys, vacuums and supplies in one secure spot, so the van carries only what today's jobs need.
- Access for staff you trust, so they can get gear without you
- Restock early, before the first job
- No chemicals or flammables, so supplies like paper towel and bin liners only
Sign and display businesses
Signboards, A-frames, real estate boards, banners and display stands. A 20ft takes lengths up to 5.9m, and a 40ft is around 12m long.
- Long and awkward items slide straight in
- Freestanding racks are fine
- Load the ute or trailer right at the doors

A container or a warehouse?
If you need staff on site or customers coming in, a warehouse or shopfront is the right choice, and we'll tell you that straight. If you need somewhere secure for stock and equipment, here's roughly how the costs compare.
| What you pay for | A warehouse or factory unit | A container at Sunshine |
|---|---|---|
| Rent | Rent, usually reviewed every year | One fixed monthly price, from $198 |
| How long you sign for | A lease, often for several years | Three months, then month to month |
| Up front | A bond or bank guarantee, and legal costs for the lease | No deposit and no setup fee |
| Outgoings | Rates, building insurance and maintenance, often on top of the rent | None. They are in the price |
| Fit-out and bills | Power, shelving and fit-out to organise and pay for | Bring freestanding shelving if you want it |
| Security | Alarm, cameras and locks to set up and pay for | High fences, a card gate, alarms and monitored cameras already in place |
| When you are done | Getting out of a lease early can be costly | 30 days' notice |
A general guide only. Warehouse costs vary a lot from one property to the next.

Good to know before you book
A few rules from the storage agreement matter more for businesses. Better to know now than on moving day.
- You meet your deliveries. There's no one on site to accept a parcel or let a driver in, and nothing can be left outside your container.
- Working at your container needs our OK. Packing orders or working there is fine with our written permission. Just ask.
- Power and lighting. There's none at the containers as standard. Daylight reaches well inside with both doors open. If your business needs power, talk to us and we can arrange it.
- Pallets and forklifts. There's a lip of about 70mm at the door, so bring a ramp for a pallet jack. We don't keep a forklift on site, but one can be arranged. Talk to us before the day.
- No lithium-ion batteries, flammables or perishables. That includes power banks, camera and tool batteries, fuel, gas bottles and food.
- No personal records. Customer files, staff and payroll records can't be stored.
- Freestanding shelving is fine. Nothing drilled, bolted or welded to the container without our written consent.
- Check your insurance. Insurance is up to you. Ask your insurer whether your business policy covers stock and equipment kept away from your business address.

Neil Campbell
I stored a large amount of possessions for two years in one of the 20' containers & everything was safe, secure & well-protected from the elements. And all of the staff were easy to contact & quick to assist with any queries - couldn't recommend them highly enough.
Alen Bardak
We used Sunshine Self Storage for 8 months and couldn’t be happier. They were very affordable compared to other storage companies, our belongings stayed in perfect condition there was no water or dust coming through the container and Ned, Hillary and Sarah were very prompt at all times to answer any of our questions. Couldn’t recommend them enough!
