Can my suppliers deliver goods to my container when no one is on site?

Not on their own. There are no full-time staff at Sunshine Self Storage to meet a delivery, sign for it or let a driver in, so you, or someone you trust, needs to be there.

Here is why. Entry to the yard is by access card, and every customer has their own card and alarm code. A delivery driver can't get through the gate without you. And under our storage agreement, nothing can be stored or left outside your container, so a pallet dropped at the door and left there would have to be removed.

The good news is that meeting a delivery is easy. Access is 5am to 9pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Book the delivery for a time that suits you, let the driver in, and drive-up access means the truck can pull up close to your container.

Be careful about handing out your access card or code. Under the agreement, anyone you let in, or give a card or code to, is your responsibility, and you need to close the gate and your container behind you.

If the delivery needs a forklift, talk to us first. We don't have one on site.
