Can my staff or contractors have their own access to my container?

Yes, people you trust can access your container, but you stay responsible for them. Talk to us when you book about how many people need access, and we will work out the best way to set it up.

Here is what you need to know. At Sunshine Self Storage, every customer has their own access card and alarm code. Under our standard SSAA storage agreement, anyone you bring in, or give your card, code or key to, counts as your associate. That means you are responsible for what they do on site, including following the yard rules.

So choose carefully. Only share access with people you would trust with the contents of your container. Make sure they know the basics: switch off the alarm straight away with the code, close the gate and the container properly when they leave, park so they don't block other customers, and never leave anything outside the container. Access hours are 5am to 9pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Your padlock key is the other half. Only people with a key can open your container, so keep track of who has one.

If a staff member leaves, or a contractor's job ends, tell us and change your padlock if they had a key. If an access card is lost, call us straight away.
