What happens if I accidentally set off the alarm?
Sunshine Self Storage, located in Albion. Drive-up 10ft, 20ft and 40ft containers, open 5am to 9pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
Don't panic. It happens. At Sunshine Self Storage, the alarms are back-to-base, which means they are monitored 24/7 by a monitoring company.
If you set off the alarm, switch it off with your own alarm code as quickly as you can. If an alarm isn't switched off within one minute, the monitoring company calls, and they can send a security officer or the police.
Then call us straight away on 03 9010 6147 and let us know it was you. If the monitoring company calls you, tell them what happened. The sooner everyone knows it was a false alarm, the less chance someone is sent out for nothing.
Under our facility rules, a call-out fee applies if security or emergency services respond to an alarm. So the quicker you switch it off and call, the better.
To avoid it in the first place, switch off your alarm as soon as you get to your container, before you open the doors. Learn your code by heart or keep it somewhere safe that isn't with your access card. If you are bringing someone with you, make sure they know the routine too. We show you how the alarm works when you move in, and you can call us any time between 8am and 5pm if you need a refresher.
