Can I store my tools and trade equipment in a container?

There are a few rules to know. No lithium-ion batteries, or anything containing one, can be stored. That means cordless tool batteries and chargers with batteries in them stay in the van or at home. Drain the fuel from mowers, generators, blowers and other petrol gear. No fuel cans, gas bottles, solvents or flammable chemicals. You can use the container as a workshop, but there is no power or lighting on site, so bring battery tools and take the batteries home when you leave.

Two tips: wipe metal tools with a few drops of oil to keep rust away, and put the tools you use most at the front.
