Can I store my motorbike or jet ski in a container?

A motorbike, yes. A jet ski, quite possibly, but measure first. At Sunshine Self Storage, both can go in a standard container or a car container, as long as they fit and are prepared properly.

A 20ft container is 5.9m long, 2.35m wide and 2.39m high inside. That fits a motorbike with lots of room to spare, and often a couple of bikes with other gear. For a jet ski on its trailer, measure the full length including the drawbar, the width and the height on the trailer, and leave room to walk past it. A 10ft may suit a single motorbike.

There is a 70mm lip between the ground and the container floor, so bring a ramp to wheel the bike or trailer in.

Fuel and batteries need care. You can't store flammable goods or spare fuel, and you can't store lithium-ion batteries or anything containing one, which some newer bikes and jet skis use. Talk to us about your fuel tank and battery before you book, and we will work through it together. Put an oil tray underneath, because cleaning fees may apply if oil leaks onto the floor. A breathable cover, not plastic, keeps dust off without trapping moisture.
