Will I get a refund if I move out partway through a billing period?

Here is how it works at Sunshine Self Storage, under the standard SSAA storage agreement.

First, your first three months are a minimum stay, paid when you sign up. Plan on being with us for at least that long.

After that, you give 30 days' notice to move out, by phone or email. If you give less than 30 days' notice, pro-rated fees apply until your move-out date. In other words, you pay for the notice period, not for months you aren't using.

If you have paid in advance for a whole future month that hasn't started yet, that payment is refunded, or set against anything else owed on your account.

Because you are billed on the 20th of each month for the following month, the timing of your notice matters. Give your notice as early as you can, so your final bill lines up with your move-out date. Ideally, give notice before the 20th, and tell us the date you plan to move out.

When you leave, empty the container, leave it clean, and return your access card. Anything left behind, or left outside, can lead to cleaning or removal fees.
