How do you keep track of who enters the yard and when?

Access to the yard at Sunshine Self Storage is controlled from the gate. It is an electronic gate with card access, and every customer has their own access card and alarm code. There are no shared codes, so entry is tied to a person, not passed around.

Inside the yard, back-to-base movement sensor alarms and motion-activated cameras are monitored 24/7, and there is CCTV on site. If an alarm is not switched off within one minute, the monitoring company calls and sends a security officer or the police. Outside access hours (5am to 9pm), the gate locks.

Your container is the last layer. Your own padlock sits inside an anti-theft lockbox, so only someone with your key can open it.

You play a part too. Keep your card and code to yourself. Don't let strangers follow you through the gate. Close the gate and your container properly when you leave. Under our storage agreement, anyone you let in, or give your card, code or key to, is your responsibility.

If your card is lost, or you think someone has your code, call us straight away so we can deal with it.
